QLeave

QLeave administers the portable long service leave scheme for workers and employers in the building and construction industry in Queensland.

The scheme allows workers to accrue long service leave benefits for eligible work performed, in the building and construction industry, regardless of the number of employers they have.

From 1 January 2009, a cap of $1,400 per week (reviewed annually) applies to all claims paid by QLeave.
Claim payment capping is necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the portable long service leave scheme. Capping applies to both employer and worker claims.

CIPQ

Construction Income Protection Queensland - CIPQ commenced on the 1st March 2001 to provide income protection and portability of sick leave benefits for workers in the building and construction industry.

The benefits payable by the Fund provide members an income whilst off work due to long-term illness or injury for up to 104 weeks. It will also allow members to utilize untaken sick leave that previously was forfeited when the employee left employment. It also provides top-up workers compensation payments after twenty-six weeks.

Cover is available to Building Workers, White Collar Workers and Self Employed.

BERT

The Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT) is a redundancy Trust that provides redundancy benefits, training grants and welfare benefits for members in the Queensland building and construction industry.

Benefits paid from the Fund help provide members and their families with financial assistance in the event of ceasing employment because of redundancy, or relief from financial burdens in the event of a member's death or disability.

JIST

Joint Industry Services Training
JIST is a not-for profit industry owned and operated registered training organisation. JIST is the preferred training provider for the ServicesIndustry and brings together key players, comprising the Plumbers Union Qld, The Hydraulic Contractors Association, the National Fire Industry Association (Qld) and the Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors Association (Qld) into one organisation to focus on the training needs of the Services Industry. JIST, in partnership with the Services Trades Industry Fund consults closely with employees, employers, unions, and employer organisations to ensure the training is relevant, up-to-date and provides value for money.
